When you explicitly refuse to take "no" for an answer, some remarkable things change in the way you approach your dreams.
If failure is not an option, then what is?

Have you heard of the extraordinary dancer Misty Coopeland, who grew up almost homeless and yet surpassed expectations and became the second African-American woman to become a prima ballerina at the American Ballet Theater?
If so, you may not know the whole story and Misty's journey teaches the rest of us a lot about chasing our dreams.
Let's start with a short but powerful piece of history that stars Misty in an Under Armour campaign that shows female athletes using sheer willpower to align society's standards with achieving their dreams.
Narrated in Copeland's video is a little girl reading rejection letters that Copeland received before being accepted into one of the most prestigious ballet companies in the world.
Now she's an accomplished artist. If Misty's example is any proof of what's possible, then it's obvious you need to develop a part of your game that completely eliminates the power of the things you can't change.
It makes you think about what's possible, doesn't it?
When "no" is not an answer!

Take your own dreams...

These are some things we should take from Misty's story for our own inspirations.

'Ignore what the inadequate people around you say' – Dr. Lynda

This is probably our number one rule.
Have you ever noticed how some people are pessimistic? There will always be those who will say no. Some people can be generally difficult and mentally lazy when it comes to change. Even “experts” won’t see the next big thing when they’ve given up on developing their ideas about what’s possible.
I know and love some people like them, but I don't take their advice.

“Not having was never a reason not to do.” – Rahzel M. Brown
Misty's story proves that the American dream is still alive and well. Regardless of your principles, if your work is excellent and your attitude lifts others up, then you will find yourself rising through the ranks in your field.

When "no" is not an answer!

There are no shortcuts. If your work isn't great, then study, practice, and persevere. It sounds like Misty did a lot of those.
“Never forget that you may be preparing for the next great leap. Humanity depends on you” – Dr. Lynda
Beauty is absolutely everywhere, isn't it?
“You create your own luck by developing habits that increase the chances that good things will come your way” – Dr. Lynda
