Kalamata broke the Guinness record in bachata dancing!

With 740 dancers, who danced for 15 minutes and 15 seconds, starting at 18.09 on Saturday, March 12, Kalamata "broke" the Guinness record in bachata dancing, surpassing the previous holder by 62 dancers.

Dancers from Kalamata, as well as from Messina, from Athens, Sparta, Pyrgos, Tripoli, Larissa, Thessaloniki, Kastoria, Alexandroupoli, Kozani and Giannitsa gathered in the central square of Vasileos Georgios in Kalamata, were counted and after their number and the correct execution of the choreography were certified, they "broke" the record, at an event presented by Yiannis Domatzis and Lina Kalapothaki.

The mayor of Kalamata, Panagiotis Nikas, on the occasion of achieving the record stated: "The success makes us all proud, because it showcases our youth, but also Kalamata internationally. Warm congratulations to the organizing committee, whose struggle for this great success we recognize! Warm congratulations to all who participated!".
