Celebration in Crete on April 29 for International Dance Day
On April 29 and 30, 2017, a top artistic event will be held for the first time in Crete, thus celebrating International Dance Day.
The company "CST Productions", which specializes in the entertainment sector, in collaboration with the Municipality of Heraklion and the support of the Municipalities of Rethymno and Hersonissos, is organizing the "International Grand Gala Étoiles du Βallet" in Crete, at the "Two Aorakia" Large Indoor Gymnasium in N. Alikarnassos, Heraklion, Crete.
The unique dance spectacle will be presented under the artistic direction of internationally renowned dancer, choreographer and former director of the Greek National Opera Ballet, Christiana Stefanou.
With the participation of many renowned artists from ballet companies from around the world, such as Yen Han and Filipe Portugal from the Zurich Opera, Mai Kono and Maxim Chashchegorov from the Munich Opera, Ayako Nakano, Jorge Garcia Perez and Tana Rosas Sune from the Basel Theater, Valentin Stoica from the Bucharest National Ballet, Marcia Jaqueline and Moacir Emanoel from the Colon Theater in Brazil, Antonella Albano and Federico Fresi from the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Arman Grigoryan Ibc Varna Gold Medallist.
These unique dancers will perform excerpts from well-known works of the classical repertoire as well as newer creations by world-renowned choreographers such as Patrice Bart, Mauro Bigonzetti, Reginaldo Rodrigues de Oliviera, Jorge Garcia Perez, Christian Spuck, Heinz Spoerli and Richard Wherlock, thus celebrating International Dance Day.
At the same time, dance students will have the opportunity to attend a seminar with dance teacher, Gala's Artistic Director, Christiana Stefanou.
The seminar will take place on April 28, 29 and 30, 2017, at two levels (Intermediate and Advanced).
According to the organizers, the event is part of the general framework of cultural and touristic upgrading of the place. This great artistic event will add cultural value not only to our homeland but also on a global level.
Short Biography of Christiana Stefanou: Graduate of the Higher State Academy of Munich and Soloist of the Bavarian State Opera Ballet. She participated in tours in Russia, USA, China, Ukraine, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Hungary, Poland.
He collaborated with leading dance teachers such as Olga Lepetsinskagia, Marius Liepa, Alexander Prokofiev. He performed works by important choreographers such as John Noimagier, Peter Wright, Mats Ek, Ray Bara, William Forsythe, Touil Tharp, Jiří Kylián, Patrice Bart, etc.
Since 2006, she has been teaching as a visiting professor at renowned companies around the world, such as the Boston Ballet, the Basel Ballet, the English National Ballet, the Romanian National Ballet, the Bavarian State Ballet, the Karlsruhe State Ballet, the Royal Swedish and Flemish Ballets, and the Opera di Roma Ballet. Since 2000, she has worked as a maître de ballet at the Greek National Opera, where she has also served as the ballet director.
