“Journey to Eternity” by the GNO Ballet

“Journey to Eternity”, the GNO Ballet production, set to music Elenis Karaindrou and choreography Renato Tzanella which was first presented in 2013, is being repeated at the Municipal Theater of Piraeus for only 4 performances.

Karaindrou's poetic music, which adorned the famous films of Thodoros Angelopoulos, gives rise to a dreamy choreographic journey signed by Renato Tzanella.

With the costumes and sets of Katerina Angelopoulos as allies, the movement of the dancers of the National Opera brings to mind the images and symbolism of Angelopoulos's universal cinema.

Under the musical direction of Anastasios Symeonidis, with the Orchestra, the A' Dancers, the Soloists, the Top Dancers and the Corps de Ballet of the GNO

An eternity and a day. He borrows the answer from Shakespeare, yet giving it the extension of his own meditation.
When I met Renato Tzanella, following an invitation from Myron Michaelides, I was certain that the music I wrote, inspired by Angelopoulos' poetic vision, would take on new dimensions in the hands of the charismatic choreographer and come to life through body language. We worked together with Renato to build a unified work dramaturgically, a musical journey with many stations, with many images, with twists and turns, with alternating colors….”
