4th “Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival”

                                                               Under the auspices of the International Dance Council (CID–UNESCO), the 4th Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival will be held this year.

Sunday, July 3rd, a unique performance at the "Dora Stratou" Theater.

East and West, two seemingly distant worlds, find a magical connection in history. "Dora Stratou" Theater, in the center of Athens, with the green hill of Filopappos as a backdrop from July 1-3, 2016.

Three days of "diving" into culture, full of mystery, charm, music, dance and immense aesthetics.

“Greece has always been a crossroads between West and East, where diverse cultures met and melded over thousands of years. From India and the Middle East to North Africa and the Mediterranean Basin, great civilizations came into close contact, exchanging a multitude of characteristics mainly related to culture and the Arts. The Festival aims to highlight these special characteristics with an emphasis on the Art of Dance and Music, as well as to give those interested the opportunity to discover the magic and beauty of the peaceful coexistence of peoples through Art and Culture.”

The Festival will feature dancers, musicians and writers from Greece and abroad. In addition, seminars, performances, presentations and a host of other activities will take place.

17 SEMINARS – 1 UNIQUE PERFORMANCE

Regarding the educational side of the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to attend 16 different seminars from top teachers with techniques and choreographies: Bollywood, Bellydance, Rajasthani Indian Dance (Ghoomar), Tribal Fusion Bellydance, Classical Indian Dances (Bharata Natyam, Odissi), Shaabi (Oriental Dance), Yoga and more. There will also be a Bollywood Dance Master Training of the program "Become a Certified Bollywood Dance Teacher".

They will all be with us. The founder of the 1st Bollywood Academy in Greece, teacher, choreographer and performer Anna Dimitratou, our guest Indian teacher, dancer and choreographer Sujata Taware – Kerikoppa, Elina Kikili, with roots in traditional Indian and gypsy dance, Domenika Arnetzeder, Sumon Rudra, our favorites Valentini Moschou, Giasemi Kalathaki, Erifili Nikolakopoulou, Soraya Shoheib, Elisavet Dakoutrou, Irini Georgiou and others.

The unique Festival Performance (Sunday, July 3, 2016) will feature great teachers, trainers, dancers and distinguished guests in unique dance combinations and ensembles.

The 3rd International Bollywood Dance Competition.

The Festival also hosts the "3rd International Bollywood Dance Competition" in Greece, organized by the "Oriental Expression Awards". The competition will take place at the Theatre, on Sunday, July 3, before a five-member jury and will be divided into two levels: Amateur and Professional and into two categories (Individual and Team). The winners will be honored with medals and gifts.

The Opening Party

This is the festive welcome party, which marks the official start of the Festival. It will be full of dance surprises, where all the friends and guests of the Festival WILL BE THERE!!! The party will take place on Saturday, July 2, 2016 (9:00 PM) in Artistic Studio Oriental Expression!!
