The stars of ballet, Natalia Osipova – Sergei Polunin, in December at the Pallas Theater!
An explosive dance couple (couple in life), Natalia Osipova – Sergei Polunin, perform -in their first joint modern stage approach- works by leading choreographers, with the participation of dancers Jason Kittelberger and James O'Hara.
The famous Natalia Osipova has been described as one of the top Giselles - from the ballet of the same name - and Odette - from Swan Lake - of all time. The former great star of the Bolshoi, who now continues her career dancing classical repertoire roles at the American Ballet Theatre, the Royal Ballet and La Scala in Milan, meets the equally top Sergei Polunin, the formidable child of the modern dance scene, an honorary guest of the Bolshoi and a multi-award winner at just 25 years old. Sergei Polunin became more widely known in 2014 when he took part in the video clip "Take me to Church" which went viral, while in November the film "Dancer" directed by Steven Cantor, a documentary about his life, starring him, will be released in Greek theaters.
- Qutb, choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui
Qutb in Arabic means "axis", "pillar" and has multiple symbolic and mystical references to the Sufi tradition. Here, Natalia Osipova joins forces with the great soloists Jason Kittelberger and James O'Hara, creating the feeling of a mystical revelation. A feeling that is uniquely intensified by the wonderful combination of modern electronic music with traditional Sufi sounds.

Russian Natalia Osipova was born in Moscow in 1986. In 2004, she graduated from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy and joined the ballet as a professional in the same year. In 2008, she became a soloist and in 2010, a principal dancer. In 2011, she became a principal dancer at the Mikhailovsky Ballet, and is now a prima ballerina at the Royal Ballet. To date, she has received many awards and distinctions. She has danced leading classical roles and has collaborated with the world's largest theaters, such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the American Ballet Theatre and the Mariinsky. She recently starred in the performance "The Flames of Paris" by Alexei Ratmansky, which was a huge success throughout Europe.
Born in Ukraine, Sergei Polunin began his training at the age of 4 at the Kiev Gymnastics Academy. Upon graduating, at the age of 13, he became a member of the Royal Ballet School. In 2009, he became a soloist of the Ballet and in June 2010 became the youngest principal dancer in its history. However, in 2012, he announced his immediate retirement. As he characteristically stated, he felt unhappy because “the artist inside him was dying.” A few months later, he accepted the offer of the Stanislavsky Ballet and became its principal dancer.
