Veria Dance 2017: A new institution in Veria

The "Culture Management Network" in collaboration with the "Public Benefit Enterprise for Multiple Development of Veria" present the organization « Veria Dance 2017 ».
The new institution is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Veria and will take place on 27-28-29 and 30 April 2017 in Arts Space in the city of Veria. It is a triple event and a real "celebration" of dance, consisting of the "Veria Dance Seminars", the "Veria Dance Gala" and the "Veria Dance Competition".
The start of this celebration, which is also linked to the celebration of International Dance Day (April 29), begins on April 27, 2017 with the “Veria Dance Seminars”. These are seminars in classical and contemporary dance by renowned and recognized dance teachers and are aimed at students of amateur dance schools aged 14 and over. Details regarding the program and registration will be announced soon.
On the same day, at the end of the seminars, the "Veria Dance Gala" will take place. This is a charity dance gala, to support the aims of "Flame» Association of Parents of Children with Neoplastic Disease. Dance schools from all over Greece will participate in the Gala, which will present choreographies of classical, contemporary, character and neoclassical dance.
On April 28, 2017, the “Veria Dance Competition” begins. It is a dance competition, specifically in classical, contemporary, character and neoclassical dance. The competition is open to amateurs aged 7 and over, students of Higher Dance Schools and professional dancers who can compete in solo, duet and group choreography. The competition for the age categories 12 and over will be held in two phases: semi-final (28/4 and 29/4 in the morning) - final (29/4 in the afternoon). For the age categories 7-12 years old, it will be held in one phase - final (30/4). Only the final phase is open to the public. The semi-final phase is broadcast live in the foyer via screen.

This is an ambitious event, which, as the organizers hope, will receive the corresponding response, both from the participants and mainly from the theater-loving public. An event that will elevate Veria from a "lively city" to "Veria. The city that dances...". However, great interest has already been expressed, both from dance schools in the region, but also from other parts of Greece, such as Thessaloniki, Athens, Drama, Trikala, Crete, etc. while the organization has already awarded "honorary participations" to two choreographies that distinguished themselves in an International Dance Competition in Italy.
