Dance festival at the Trikala Cultural Center

A dance festival and magical expressive movements by 200 students from the Municipality of Trikala! The Cultural Center was filled with incredibly beautiful expressive figures from the students who gave their souls.

                                                                                                                                                                                          Presenting the program “I dance, therefore I communicate”, which was implemented for the first time in our region at the initiative of the Municipality of Trikala, the students had the opportunity to show what they had learned. The participants of the program of the House of Letters and Arts were in 5 schools of the Municipality and for almost ten days they trained students in dance expression. This training was presented on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Cultural Center and, as noted by the Deputy Mayor of Education and Culture, Mrs. Vasilena Mitsiadi, it was a very important program, as the “House of Letters and Arts” emphasized expression through dance movement for 200 students. However, she noted that the students’ engagement with an important art form, that of dance, was of great importance. The program was implemented by the "Stegi", in collaboration with the Battery Dance Company of New York (which inspired the program) and with the support of the US Embassy in Athens. The students of the Municipality's schools that participated in the program came from:
– 1st High School of Trikala
– 5th High School of Trikala
– M. Kalivion High School
– Megalochori High School.
Also important is the transfer of the performances to Athens, at the end of the month, in a nationally significant demonstration of the dance performances that were given.
