The elaborately crafted ballet pointe shoes are beautiful, usually in pink. But what happens when famous fashion designers create their own pair? The American Ballet Theatre is answering that question by auctioning off a “Collector’s Edition” of ballet shoes created by top fashion houses including: Dolce & Gabanna, Oscar de la Renta, Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, Marchesa. The collectible pointe designs were designed as part of ABT’s 75th anniversary, and below you can see some of the designs:
